“I’m Confident Because She Didn’t…” – Angela Lee Reveals Why She Would Reign as Two-Division Queen

“Unstoppable” Angela Lee envisions herself leaving ONE on Prime Video 2 with the ONE Women’s Strawweight World Title firmly over her shoulder.

The longtime atomweight queen challenges “The Panda” Xiong Jing Nan for the divisional gold in a much-anticipated rubber match at the promotion’s second show on Prime Video, which broadcasts live in U.S primetime on September 30.

Angela Lee feels prepared for the rematch against China’s best

It will be Lee’s second shot at the Chinese superstar’s strap. The Singaporean-American dynamo fell short in her first attempt to become a two-division ONE World Champion at ONE: A NEW ERA in March 2019.

However, she scored an incredible victory over Xiong to defend her own World Title when they rematched six months later, and she believes the steady progress she has made since then will see her succeed when the pair meet to cap off their storied rivalry.

“I feel like I did really well [in the first two matches], but at the same time, I know how much better I could have been if I had the right preparations. And so now I truly feel that this is my time,” Lee offered.

“The preparation has been great, and I’m confident because she didn’t experience my full game yet, but I think I’ve experienced hers. So I think that’s going to be to my advantage.”

Both women haven’t dropped their respective gold since claiming it in record-breaking fashions.

Angela Lee’s gameplan is the polar opposite of her opponent Xiong Jing Nan

“Unstoppable” dismantled Japanese MMA veteran Mei “V.V” Yamaguchi in May 2016 to grab the ONE Atomweight World Title, crowning her the youngest MMA World Champion at 19.

Xiong, on the other hand, sealed her spot atop the stacked strawweight division by knocking out Tiffany “No Chill” Teo in January 2018. That win saw her become China’s first-ever mixed martial arts World Champion.

“The Panda,” is the very definition of a tough opponent. She has defended her belt on seven occasions against some of the biggest names in ONE and has a perfect slate at strawweight.

Lee has a solid plan secured to bring Xiong’s dominant run to an end on September 30, however, and she’s ready to go to war.

“I’ll be looking to take her out in the early rounds, and I feel like her game plan is to take me out in later rounds. We’ll see who gets what they want,” she warned.
